While the U.N. voted overwhelmingly to condemn the U.S.’ ongoing embargo of Cuba, Israel supported the American stand against human rights abuses and lack of freedom in the island nation.

On Thursday, the U.N. General Assembly overwhelmingly approved a resolution condemning the American economic embargo of Cuba and rejecting proposed U.S. amendments strongly criticizing the lack of human rights in the communist nation.

Resolutions adopted by the 193-member world body are unenforceable, but they reflect the opinion of the anti-Israel and increasingly anti-American international organization.
