This photograph of British soldiers stationed in Mandatory Palestine was taken in 1938…It is included in a somewhat mysterious photo album, apparently compiled by an unknown British officer who was sent to the region as part of the effort to quell the Arab revolt of 1936-1939.You can browse through the album here: https://tinyurl.com/yakz4s9vThe photos of the album, accompanied by the owner’s written notes, offer a fascinating glimpse of this turbulent period and how it was perceived through the eyes of British soldiers. If you have any knowledge which offers hints as to the identity of the original owner, let us know in the comments! The album is part of the Jacob Wahrman Collection at the National Library of Israel Niyicimanza
